John, Alastair and Neville Porter have been part of the Queenstown business community for twenty years as co-managing directors of Remarkables Park Limited, Shotover Park Limited, Remarkables Park Stud Farm and Porter Group retail companies, which included retail businesses in downtown Queenstown and at Remarkables Park. Remarkables Park has a dedicated professional team and look forward to hearing from you.

Alastair Porter

Contact Alastair

Alastair has held many executive and non-executive directorships in the property, marketing, retail and farming sectors.  He was formerly for many years the deputy chairman of the New Zealand Game Industry Board.  Since 2008, he has been Chairman of the Queenstown Chamber of Commerce.  He has experience in urban and rural residential property development both as a principal and a consultant.

John Porter

Contact John

John Porter has been involved in many aspects of business and has a strong background in finance, marketing and administration.  Outside work John enjoys skiing, tennis and genealogy, and once a year he and his wife spend time visiting their son and daughter who live and work in London.

Neville Porter

Contact Neville 

Neville operated the Porter Group textile importing and marketing operations for many years. He is an accomplished photographer and Information Technology specialist.  His skills are in constant demand by Remarkables Park and its extended network of activities.

Julika Batten 

contact Julika, Office Administrator

Juli is responsible for the day to day running of the Auckland office, accounts payable and receivable, daily incidentals and liaising with staff. Although German, she grew up in Uruguay where she obtained a Diploma as a Bilingual Technician in Wholesale and Foreign Commerce. Her past experience includes Legal Secretary and Personal Assistant for managing Partners at Law and Accountancy firms.

Juli is fluent in three languages and outside of work has a passion for cooking and having friends and family over for dinner. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children and has a love of reading.

Gerard Bligh 

Contact Gerard, Commercial Property

Gerard came to Remarkables Park Ltd in early 2012. He is involved in Property Development, Land Sales and Commercial Leasing. Gerard has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree from Lincoln University where he majored in Valuation and Property Management and previously worked for an Auckland Landlord for three years before moving south.

Outside of work, Gerard has a keen interest in property, going to the gym and keeping fit and travelling to new places.

Jenny Carter

Contact Jenny, Resource Management Planning

Jenny is involved in Planning and Resource Management Act matters here at Remarkables Park Ltd. She holds Bachelor of Resource and Environmental Planning from Massey University and has 15 years of planning experience in both policy and resource consents, with the last 12 years based in Queenstown. Jenny is a full member of the New Zealand Planning Institute and is a committee member of the Otago Branch of the Resource Management Law Association.

Outside of work Jenny enjoys a variety of activities including mountain biking, walking, and spending time with her kids.

Leah Fitzpatrick

Contact Leah, Events and Communications Coordinator 

Leah joined the Remarkables Park team at the beginning of 2013; her role involves working with Olivia on communications and events. Leah has recently graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Economics.

Leah’s interests outside of work include, cooking, sport, travel and playing in the outdoors.

Vicky Jones 

Contact Vicky, PA to Alastair Porter

Vicky is Alastair Porter’s Personal Assistant here at Remarkables Park Ltd. She is also responsible for the general running of the office here at Remarkables Park here in Queenstown. Vicky moved from Auckland 5 years ago where she worked for many years as a legal executive specialising in residential conveyancing.

Her interests outside of work include hiking, skiing, mountain biking, gardening and caring for a menagerie of animals at home.

Olivia Porter 

Contact Olivia, Communications and Projects Manager

Olivia is the Communications and Projects Manager at Remarkables Park Limited. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts, University of Auckland, New Zealand Master of Cultural Heritage, Deakin University, Australia. Her role includes the planning, fundraising and development of community and business partnerships, programs and events. 

These include sponsorship partnerships with local arts and heritage organizations including the award winning restoration of the Old Ticket Office, slipways and Boatshed and Deputy Chair of the Wakatipu Heritage Trust; New Zealand Cycle Trail at Remarkables Park, Local Markets, and the Community Garden Project; and overseas the Vieng Xay Heritage Implementation Project in Laos, and number of UNESCO Master classes in Natural and Cultural Management in France, Spain and Australia.

Sherryn Smith 

Contact Sherryn, Market Manager

Sherryn is the Market Manager here at Remarkables Park running the famous Remarkables Market’s every Saturday over summer. She holds a BHSc (OT) from Auckland Institute of Technology, and a PG Dip Rehab from Massey University.

Sherryn is very active in the local community being a volunteer swim coach at the Queenstown Swim Club and on the Queenstown Primary P.T.A. Outside of work she loves to challenge herself in events such as Motatapu Marathon and Challenge Wanaka Half Ironman Swim, and loves skiing and keeping fit, and travelling.

 

Deb Taylor 

Contact Deb, Planning and Development Liason

Deb has been with Remarkables Park Ltd since 2004. She assists in Planning and Development Liaison for the Remarkables Park Zone, with specific interested in establishing and developing a tertiary education hub here at Remarkables Park. Deb has a Bachelor of Social Science and a Masters of Social Science in Social Psychology. She has previous experience in the Tertiary, Property and Market Research sectors.

Outside of work, Deb enjoys spending time with her family, especially her grand-children, entering the local pub quiz and playing backgammon.

 

Amanda Treharne 

Contact Amanda, Resource Management Planning

Amanda is involved in Planning and Resource Management Act matters here at Remarkables Park Ltd. She holds a Bachelor of Town Planning from the University of New South Wales and has 20 years of planning experience from Sydney to London with the last 6.5 years based here in Queenstown. She is also a committee member of the Otago Branch of the NZPI.

Amanda enjoys a variety of activities outside of work including mountain biking, walking, cooking and spending time with her kids.
