Stir Tea

Stir Tea was launched in May 2008 by long time Queenstown resident Michelle Casson. You will find her at the market most Saturdays offering tea tastings and a selection of Stir Tea for sale. Stir Tea is the private label tea range of Queenstown based tea company, Tea Global Ltd.

The company sources and imports their teas from the main tea growing regions of the world. They offer you a wide selection of high quality loose leaf tea and caffeine free herbal and fruit blends that honour the traditions and craft of tea while still continuing to develop new and exciting blends such as their dessert tea range.

Cardrona Merino

Gibbston Valley Cheese

Gibbston Valley Cheese is located in Queenstown's Valley of Vines, high in the southern mountains. They specialise in handmade sheep, cow and goat milk artisan cheeses hand-crafted in the European style. This unique visitor experience features complimentary cheese tastings, a café & retail shop and their beautiful vineyard picnic garden - the perfect setting for a delicious cheeseboard and glass of local wine.

Stewart Island Salmon

Stewart Island Salmon is sourced from the pure waters of Big Glory Bay, Stewart Island, where Sanford's two salmon farms produce some of the finest Pacific-King salmon. It then travels from the Bay to the kitchen ("The Shed"), just above Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island, where it is smoked on site - so freshness is guaranteed. They are proud to sell our Stewart Island Smoked Salmon at many markets around New Zealand.

Stewart Island Smoked Salmon is such a versatile healthy option from an entree with a delicious mango salsa or chilli jam to a main dish of many options either heated or cold with a nice salad and veges or use a small amount through a pasta or rissotto.

Whitestone Cheese

Whitestone Cheese was founded in 1987 as a diversification by the Berry's, a 4th generation Otago farming family. The original factory was set up in a converted garage with milk sourced from local farms and one cheese variety Farmhouse was launched. The business slowly grew as an extension of the farming operation until today's purpose built factory was commissioned in 1996.

Whitestone’s extensive range of award winning artisan cheeses capture the quality of their local milk, produced from cows grazing on North Otago’s premium limestone down lands .

Recommendations include Lindis Pass Brie, Vintage Windsor Blue plus their range of goats milk cheeses, all of which can be sampled at the market.

Wine Country Creations

Wine Country Creations specialise in wine barrel platters and candelabras with designs and creations for indoor and outdoor living with a Central Otago influence.

Tropical fruits, breads, cheeses and whole fish are fantastic served on Wine Barrel Staves. Owner, Barb suggests the platters are a great feature in the home and are one of the most popular products made at Wine Country Creations.

Traditional Heritage Preserves

Chutneys made from the old fruit varieties are Quince, Rhubarb & Ginger, Black Cherry, Beetroot & Red Onion, Gooseberry & Apple, Black Boy Peach, Black Doris Plum & Cinnamon & of course the Original Golden Queen Peach Chutney. Gaye, who lives in Arrowtown, has added two chutney sauces to the range. Apricot & Saffron Chutney Sauce and Pinot Noir Chutney Sauce. The Saffron is grown in the Lower Shotover, while the apricots & pinot noir grapes are a natural addition, living in Central Otago. All chutneys are GLUTEN FREE. Ask Gaye for her extensive list of serving Suggestions.

Other products, handed down to Gaye are Lavosh, an Arminian Flatbread, in two flavours, Sea salt with mixed fresh herbs & Parmesan with fresh rosemary. These are dairy free but contain Gluten.

Ginger Bread made with fresh ginger great on its own or with cheese & as they used to say “a good keeper” This was very popular at hay making time as was this next product Lemon Squash, the old fashioned variety, all natural & wonderful as a long drink with a slice of lemon & a sprig of mint on hot days or as a splash added to a gin or vodka. It also makes great ice blocks for children. Its dilution is 1 to 12 parts water.

Pretty Kiwi

Pretty Kiwi was started in 2009 by Tineke Enright after the birth of her daughter. She makes a range of pretty and kiwiana things for babies and toodles. All her products are handmade in the beautiful surroundings of Queenstown using vintage and retro printed fabrics.

Cup & Cake

Queenstown's first and only dedicated cupcake shop creating the most delicious cupcakes in the Wakatipu. Cup & Cake caters to all, from large parties and events to tourist foot traffic and locals. Funkee is all about bringing you the latest fun and contemporary fashion accessories at great prices.

Marijke and Laura set up Funkee in 2010, the Funkee collection is hand-picked, high quality yet has a designer look…and at a really affordable price. They only stock small numbers of each design, so if you see something you like - snap it up before it's too late!  They source their products from around the world and plan to use a percentage of their profits to set up initiatives in the local countries.

Gaia Jewellery

Sara began her jewellery making journey in 2004 when she took up a jewellery making course with a local goldsmith. She resides in Arrowtown with her husband Jessie and son Gabriel. When she gets a break from being a mum, Sara can be found handcrafting beautiful jewellery in her studio, a 1970’s caravan.

Glass Bros Ltd

Glass Brothers was started in 1944. Today there are around 3,000 hives on some 120 farms around Otago and Southland. Jill and Tony Clissold grew up with Glass Brothers Honey and knew well that the product not only brought a legacy of trust and confidence, but also had enormous potential for expansion into broader markets. They bought the business in 1974 and set about marshalling a steady growth based on the same high standards the company was founded on. Shoppers tell Tony their favourite honey is Clarity Dark. It brings the rich mystery of Manuka; the intensity naturally tempered by Southland’s bracing air, for an immensely satisfying honey with the reminiscent tang of one of New Zealand’s best loved native shrubs.

Peonies2u is dedicated to delivering freshly cut blooms direct from the peony field to your doorstep. Phill and Jil Leydon take pride in harvesting their Peonies which grow during the months of November and December. Peony colours ranging from the beautiful captivating Coral Sunset to the radiant reds, vintage creams, the crisp pure whites and through to the various subtle pink tones.

Each peony variety is dependent on the timing of the season, they can be found at the Remarkables Market around the months of November/December.

Kristin, Hamish and the team at Freeway Orchard offer you the best of Central Otago's fruit harvest. After spending three years in Britain learning about strawberries, Albert said he thought if they could grow there then surely they could grow here. Albert grows four varieties of strawberries but finds the Sea Scape variety the best grower.

MayJer MicroGreens 

Maya and Jerry Novak Sever grow microgreens – over a dozen different, colourful sorts, ranging from mild and sweet to spicy and strong. All their microgreens are sold as living plants that can be cut as needed and kept fresh for much longer. Being health food enthusiasts, Maya and Jerry also sell their own locally grown wheatgrass for juicing, and their easy microgreens home growing kits are fast becoming a market favourite. Stop by their stall, sample a few of their tasty microgreens andd see what the fuss is all about!

Quick Brown Fox

Quick Brown Fox and Lazy Dog Liqueurs are hand crafted coffee liqueurs from Dunedin. Quick Brown Fox uses a blend of three organic coffees and a dash of cinnamon and Lazy Dog is a decaf, organic maple and cedar wood liqueur. Each bottle is hand labelled using a tapioca starch glue so that the bottles are re-usable or returnable for a refund.

The Chocolate Workshop Wanaka

The Chocolate Workshop based and founded in Wanaka in 2012 produces traditional European style chocolates. Ingredients are sourced locally where possible and Tanja avoids using artificial flavouring, colouring and preservatives. The chocolates are produced in small batches to provide a fresh product everytime. Check the stall for seasonal products and have a chat about your favourite chocolates and sample the latest creations. Eftpos is available at the stall.

Just Fish has been transporting fresh fish to Queenstown for over 4 years. Owner and founder, Tucker Williamson, travels to bluff each week to ensure the freshness of his products, which includes; blue cod, sole, crayfish, brill, scallops, salmon, gurnard and monk fish. Jewellery by Chris

Chris specialises in making jewellery from vintage and recycled cutlery. The cutlery has come from mothers and grandmothers kitchen draws. The jewellery has been fashioned to complement the cutlery whether it is a spoon, fork or knife. It is fun jewellery with a history. Chris also makes pieces from fine and sterling silver, these are more classic in design.

The Green Juice Company

"The Green Juicing Company" newly founded by Maree Waring will be offering freshly made juices using mainly organic fruit and vegetables each week during the summer markets. Juicing and eating as much raw and whole foods is a way of life for Maree and she is delighted to be offering healthy juices and food to the people that come to the markets each week. She will be introducing new juices during the summer as the fruit and vegetables become available. Maree also offers delicious Chocolate Bliss Balls which is a guilt free treat made from nuts and dried fruit rolled in coconut.

She uses biocups or recyclable cups and compost all the fruit and Vegetable pulp each week. She also source most of her fruit and vegetable through Aspiring Organic's and Freeway Orchards who are both regular stallholders at the Remarkable Market.

Orphans Aid International has been an established part of the Queenstown community since 2006.  Located at Terrace Junction, their shop is proud to display a selected range of its quality products at the Remarkables Market. Care for communities by purchasing from their Fair Trade and Gift goods sourced from around the world. You’ll be supporting the work of Orphans Aid International around the globe and here in New Zealand.


Their range includes Organic and Fair Trade foods, coffees and baking products – as well as one-of-a-kind jewellery, fashion and homewares – hand-crafted around the world – each with a story to tell.
