Town Centre

Remarkables Park Town Centre is a busy gateway to Remarkables Park. The centre is refreshingly customer friendly. Its unique urban design, architecture, colourful buildings, beautifully landscaped open space and extraordinary mountain vistas all combine to provide a memorable destination.

Remarkables Park Town Centre welcomes more than 1.69 million vehicles and over 3 million visitors each year.  The initial stage of this popular Town Centre was completed between 1999-2000. This involved the construction of  large format retail space including a New World supermarket, Harvey Norman, H&J's Outdoor World (sports store) and H&J Smith department store. Town Centre further expansion over the years has brought a variety of retailers and offices to the centre including ASB Bank, BNZ Bank, Hannahs Footwear, Remarkables Pharmacy, Flight Centre, Smith City, Canterbury Clothing, Cutting Room Hairdressers, Wild South, Lifesense, Redcurrent, Whitcoulls, Evoke cafe, Ma Boulangerie french cafe and bakey and DT Carter clothing. It’s uniquely different from suburban shopping areas that have been built in many places in recent decades.  Since 2010 the shopping centre has grown to include a total of 63 businesses.

The vision of Eldon Beck,  Remarkables Park's original master planner, can be seen in these existing buildings which embrace the colours, texture and style of Central Otago.
